15TH ANNUAL SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS®

Y se siguen repartiendo los premios entre El Caballero de la Noche, The Reader (otro premio más para Kate Winslet, de la que creo nadie dudará que se llevará la estatuilla dorada del Oscar), Doubt, Slumdog Millionaire y Milk, esta vez el Screen Actors Guild presentó su codiciada estatuilla en forma de Actor® para las mejores películas y producciones de televisión del 2008 en la 15ª Anual Screen Actors Guild Awards®, en una ceremonia a la que asistieron las principales estrellas del cine y la televisión, que se celebró ayer domingo 25 de enero, en el Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center.

Estos ganadores fueron seleccionados por los casi 100,000 miembros activos de la Screen Actors Guild a nivel nacional, un termómetro bastante cercano a lo que serían los premios Oscar. Los premios cinematográficos fueron para Sean Penn, Meryl Streep, Heath Ledger y Kate Winslet; mientras que Paul Giamatti, Laura Linney, Hugh Laurie, Sally Field, Alec Baldwin y Tina Fey lo fueron para actuaciones en televisión. También se entregaron premios por actuaciones de un elenco de cine y televisión de comedia y drama, siendo el de cine para Slumdog Millionaire, mientras que para la televisión y el teatro fueron para 30 Rock y Mad Men. En el rubro de dobles (me parece un excelente premio, porque tienen un mérito tremendo en las películas), se concedieron a El Caballero de la Noche y Héroes. Un premio muy destacable fue el que le entregó Forest Whitaker a James Earl Jones, el Screen Actors Guild al Logro en la Vida, en un video-homenaje.
